HOUTTUYNIA cordata:

This plant, also known as lizard’s tail, comes from the Saururaceae plant family and has been used for centuries in Far Eastern countries such as Thailand, India and China. It is an integral part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and traditional Thai medicine (TTM). The unique flavour is characteristic and an essential component of its effect. Due to the wide range of applications, interest in the ingredients and their effects is also increasing in Europe. Among the numerous bioactive substances found are flavonoids and alkaloids.
